OVERVIEW

 

  • Experience caring for animals.  This can include providing food & water, dog walking, scooping litter, minor grooming & administering meds.
  • Access e-mail at least twice a day & proficient at texting.
  • Stay current with any emails sent from our office (reading all and responding quickly)
  • Required to have a Smartphone or Tablet with a data plan.
  • Be professional, courteous & communicative.
  • Have access to the internet daily.
  • High level of customer service.
  • Handle stressful situations with a calm, assertive demeanor.
  • Ability to control multiple dogs at one time.
  • Proper grammar and good spelling.
  • Work with ALL dog breeds and nonjudgemental.
  • Must abide by the Employee Handbook at all times.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions, be self-motivated & self managed.
  • Friendly, confident & professional
  • Access to specific Apps for safety of our concierges.
  • Maintain a proactive, meticulous approach for caring for client's homes & pets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The phisical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by a Concierge to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work will routinely require the Concierge to bend, kneel &/or crouch.  Concierge's may experience minor infections and exposure to communicable diseases or infectious bacteria.  Pet Concierges may experience physical injuries from bites and scratches by dogs, cats, or other types of pets.

In addition to personalized care, Concierges are often asked to perform light housekeeping tasks including sweeping &/or vacuuming in a clien't home.  The Concierge is also required to work outside in all weather conditions, including cold, wet, hot &/or humidity.

May be required to walk at a moderate pace for up to one hour per visit with dogs that may pull.

There are extensive hours of driving with this position.

 

AVAILABILITY

Open positions are part time with the ability to extend hours if desired as you gain experience as a Pet Concierge. It's the perfect permanent part time position with potential for growth and also great for someone looking to supplement their current income. The best candidates are those with full availability, 7 days a week for all of our time blocks, however this level of availability is not required. Pet Concierges may be required to work holidays. 

 

COMPENSATION

Pet Concierges are compensated at a rate of 50% of the billed visit, 70% of stays with the concierge & overnights in client the client home, retain 100% of any holiday fees and 100% of their tips. Since we hire employees, not independent contractors, we cover all employment taxes as well as workers compensation, training, marketing materials, insurance and bonding.

 

TRAINING

If hired, you will need to pass a reference & criminal background check along with a drug test.  You will also be required to complete a thorough Hands-On Shadowing period which could take up to 3 months.  Additionally, you will be trained in pet first aid & CPR along with a certificate upon completion of the class.
